El Fogón Verde offers a great escape from the crowded streets, a minute away from the most famous museums, for anybody longing for a peaceful, fresh and healthy meal. They cook with locally sourced, organic ingredients, so eating seasonally reflects on their menu.
I stumbled up to this vegetarian gem on a quiet and narrow street just a few minutes away from all the main museums in Madrid of Paseo del Prado. I really enjoyed that El Fogón Verde has a traditional Spanish feel to it with beautiful hand painted tiles and rustic design but still with a light feel to it.
The lunch menu we had was fresh and flavorful, all the dishes were vegan except for one dessert. This is a vegetarian restaurant where vegans are taken care of, that is, unfortunately, the case in all Madrid’s vegetarian restaurants.
